A CROWDFUNDING OF SORTS: RUNE DECKS
It's been almost a year and a half since I first released my rune decks and we need your help to restock them 🙏🏻💚
I don't talk about these rune decks very often, but after meeting someone at Supanova that had bought one from ForeverGreen, I have been extra motivated to get more made. I had never created a deck of cards or anything similar before doing the last run, and I literally taught myself about Elder Futhark runes in order to create this because I wanted it for myself.
I put a lot of time and effort into these babies and made sure to go all out on premium quality materials so they hold up over time, but because it's pretty niche and I'm not an expert on runes (though I made sure to find reputable sources for my research), I was always a bit nervous about promoting them in case it wasn't what people expected.
I got some amazing reviews from people I already knew that had purchased them, but sometimes it's hard to tell if friends and family are biased or just trying to be nice 😅 so having someone I had never met, who didn't really know who I was outside of a name on a tuckbox, and who had seen other rune decks to compare them with come up to me at Supanova and tell me how much they love MY deck the most was really awesome and important for me to hear.
The majority of the art I sold through my retail stockists went to people I will never meet or hear from and that makes it really hard to get feedback sometimes, but I now have confirmation that these are indeed very cool and could turn into something big with the right audience, and I need your help to get more made. It's expensive to get custom card decks printed and my budget is limited, so I need to get enough pre-orders to help cover the printing costs.
I'm not trying to do anything massive right now, so I'm just aiming for 10 pre-orders to cover a small fresh stack and hopefully enough money leftover to do up some little booklets to replace the basic info sheets, but if we go over (🤞🏻) I would love to potentially do some fun extras like little decorative deck bags or fancy mats for doing spreads on.
The pre-order is already up, so you can go and read more about the cards and put in an order if you would like to. I haven't set a solid deadline for the funding, but if we don't get enough orders by the end of February to go ahead with production then I'll probably just call it and do refunds.
I thought about trying to do a Kickstarter to get more eyeballs and possibly increase our chances, but honestly that's a whole big extra thing that I don't really have the time or energy for right now and still doesn't guarantee anything so WE'RE DOING IT OURSELVES!
